Glory

Once again, the Lord spoke to me on my walk.

Last night when I was on my walk, I noticed a sago palm.  I don't know
how familiar you are with them, but they are very prevelant in local
yards.  The fronds are dark green (and poisonous to dogs!), they get
to about 5' usually.  Once I year they will have a golden center.  I'm
not a plant expert - just trying you to visualize it.

This winter, we had an ice storm.  Now, most palms are not local to
our area, but brought here for the Florida effect.  The sago palms
really took a hit.  Many of them in our neighborhood died completely.
A lot of them, though, died on the top...and then began to grow from
the bottom again.

Formerly strong plants, beautiful in yards, were now a half shadow of
what they used to be.  A few spindly fronds sagged at the bottom, and
the top was a bare reminder of what used to be.

Ah, but God...this particular Sago had a beautiful covering over that
harsh reality.  Instead of staring at the loss and death, the Sago had
a covering of morning glory - fresh, spring green spade leaves, and
lovely purple flowers that opened as each day began.

So it is with God's Glory...His Glory covers us, if we worship Him in
Spirit and in truth.

Exodus 33:22New King James Version (NKJV)

22 So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in
the cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass
by.

He covers us, He protects us.  HE gives us beauty for ashes!!

Isaiah 61:3New International Version (NIV)

3     and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
    instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
    instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
    a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor

I didn't see the wounded Sago - I saw the morning glory!

He has you covered!
