A New Year (2014)

Good Morning, Good Afternoon, or Good Day!

It's hard for me to write this morning.

It's been a rough week - the capstone of a rough year.
Valley times are like that.

I know there is a hope and and a future, though...and it's not
attached to a calendar date.

A lot of people make a big deal about New Year's - resolutions, etc.
Whatever works for you - if that is something positive in your life,
by all means continue.

I will confess that I am excited for 2014 because I am starting
college again, and that is a move into the future for me in a tangible
way. It has been sheer persecution at work for a over a year, getting
worse, so it is a way for me to make a move into another direction,
with God's help.  And truth be told, I'm ready to say adios to 2013.

The truth of the matter is this - His mercy is new EVERY morning.  Not
just 1/1/14.  We have a chance every single day to begin again.  We
wake up with yesterday behind us.  Boy am I ever grateful for that!!

I like what Luke says about keeping our eyes to what's ahead...

Luke 9:62
New King James Version (NKJV)

62 But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow,
and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”

We can't be stuck in the past.  We have to keep plowing forward.
Imagine if you did look back - you would get off track.  It would take
you off course.

No one knows what the future holds, except God.

For some of us, we breathe a sigh of relief as 2014 enters.  For
others, it will bring realization of the finalization of what has
ended.

So live for today.  Carpe diem - sieze the day.  TODAY.  We all make
mistakes, we all mess up.  Some days are better than others.  But as
for today, seek His face.  Call out to Him.
